Aviation plays the critical role of connecting New Zealand to the world. It enables international tourism ($17.7b YE March 2020) and inbound and outbound trade ($23b 2017/18). In addition, it allows outbound travel by Kiwis, and a wide range of business, family, political, sporting and social connections with the world.      

Marine connectivity is equally important in enabling the operation of the cruise industry in New Zealand that brings benefits to a wide spread of regions throughout the country.
