ETA details announced

Cabinet has agreed on the details for the new Electronic Travel Authority (ETA). From 1 October 2019, all air travellers from the 60 countries that currently have visa waivers, and all cruise travellers, will need to hold an ETA before travelling to New Zealand. This will effect an estimated 1.4 million travellers per year.

An individual’s ETA will last up to two years and cost $9 for applications made through a mobile app, and $12 for applications via the web. The planned IntAn individual’s ETA will last up to two years and cost $9 for applications made through a mobile app, and $12 for applications via the web. The planned International Visitor Levy of $35 will be additional.
