  • Application for Re-authorisation – Qantas-Emirates Restated Master Coordination Agreement

    Letter of Support to Ministry of Transport

    TIA supports Qantas and Emirates applications for re-authorisation of their Master Coordination Agreement under which they will continue to coordinate their operations across their respective networks to better connect New Zealand and Australia to Asia, the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa.

  • Government Policy Statement on Land Transport

    Feedback to the GPS Policy Team, Ministry of Transport - 5 April 2017

    While TIA is pleased with the recognition of the importance of tourism in the GPS, there is little detail that demonstrates whether the NZTA fully understands the impact of the tourism industry on New Zealand’s land transport and the land transport requirements of the tourism industry. One of our concerns is that the GPS does not map over into tourism–specific actions.

  • Maritime Transport Amendment Bill

    Submission to Transport and Industrial Relations Committee - 1 February 2017

    TIA supports the requirement that maritime operators have a Drug and Alcohol
    Management Plan. However, we do not agree that all operators need to carry out
    mandatory random drug and alcohol testing of workers who do safety sensitive work.

  • Air New Zealand-United Airlines Authorisation Application

    Letter of Support to the Ministry of Transport - 5 August 2016

    TIA supports approval of the Air New Zealand and United Airlines’ application for authorisation of a Side Agreement to the Alliance Expansion Agreement. It is important for us that there will be a level playing field for the airlines operating the market.

  • Qantas Airways and American Airlines Joint Business Agreement

    Submission to the Ministry of Transport – 7 August 2015

    We recommend the authorisation of the Qantas and American Airlines Joint Business Agreement be approved, subject to areas of concern outlined in this submission.
